EDA AWARDS PORT $2 MILLION FOR A&E DESIGNS
The U.S. Economic Development Administration (EDA) has awarded Guam $2 million dollars for environmental, architectural, and engineering designs to expand and modernizing the Port of Guam.
The EDA is a division of the U.S. Department of Commerce.
A release quotes Congresswoman Madeleine Bordallo as saying that initial planning and design funds will help facilitate construction of necessary improvements needed to increase the overall efficiency of cargo handling and prepare the Port for the military build-up.
Port General Manager Glenn Leon Guerrero also quoted as saying “This federal grant will be a big boost in our ongoing efforts to modernize our commercial sea port and transform it into a world-class facility.”
